Spartanburg Athletic Club (SAC):
A $15 non-member monthly fee applies per swimmer when more than one student is registered on the same day. A one-day guest pass is also available for $5. The maximum non-member fee per family, per month is capped at $30. This policy is non-applicable to SAC members.

We understand that schedules can change, and unexpected situations may arise. To help us maintain a smooth and respectful scheduling system for all families and instructors, we have the following cancellation policy in place:
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. If a lesson is canceled with less than 24 hours' notice—excluding sudden illness, weather, or emergencies—full payment for the missed session will be required. Payment for any travel fees will also apply.
Lessons may be rescheduled at no additional cost when proper notice is given. We are happy to work with you to find a new time that fits your schedule.
For the safety and liability of all parties, parents or guardians are required to sign a pool-specific waiver for their child before participating in lessons at the following locations:
Spartanburg Athletic Club (SAC)
Country Club of Spartanburg
Woodlands
Each facility requires its own waiver, even if your child attends lessons at multiple locations. When your lesson is scheduled, you will be sent the appropriate digital waiver form, which must be signed prior to your child’s first lesson at that pool.
If you need assistance accessing or submitting the waiver form, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re happy to help.

When Should My Child Begin Lessons?
Starting at around 18 months is a great time to begin swim lessons! At this age, our lessons focus on building comfort and confidence in the water, learning basic water safety, and developing simple swimming skills. Keeping the lessons fun, positive, and age-appropriate to help the children build a strong foundation for swimming is what we focus on!
How Often Should Kids Take Swim Lessons?
The typical structure of our lessons is weekly, giving children the consistency they need to build confidence and develop their swimming skills. We’ve found that weekly lessons are very effective for steady progress and continued skill development. However, if you’d like your child to take lessons more than once a week, we’re happy to accommodate additional lessons! More frequent lessons can provide extra practice and help children build their skills and confidence even faster.
Private vs Group Swim Lessons: Which is Better?
Both private and group swim lessons can be great options, depending on your child’s needs and goals. Private lessons provide one-on-one attention and allow the instructor to focus specifically on your child’s skills and progress. Group lessons offer a fun, social environment where children can learn alongside others while building confidence in the water. The best choice depends on your child’s comfort level, learning style, and swimming goals.
How Many Swim Lessons Does a Beginner Need?
Every child learns at their own pace, so there’s no set number of lessons needed to become a confident swimmer. We typically start to see progress around the 4th lesson, as children become more comfortable in the water and begin to build new skills. The key is consistency, and with regular lessons, your child can continue building confidence and making progress at their own pace.
What is The Difference Between a Private and a Semiprivate Lesson?
A private lesson is one-on-one, giving your child the instructor’s full attention throughout the lesson. A semi-private lesson includes two swimmers, allowing children to learn together while still receiving plenty of individual attention. Both options are great for building confidence and developing swimming skills, the best choice depends on your child’s needs and what works best for your family.
